The senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Anambra Central senatorial district, Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife has revealed that she is not supporting the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi because he lacks the national spread required to win an election. Lilian disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen today.
Recall that a few weeks ago, some online blogs reported that the senator has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi. Reacting to the reports, however, Lilian stated that she is a bonafide member of PDP and the party has candidates at every level so there is no way she can support another candidate.
She said Peter Obi is her brother whom she respects with high esteem but she will not support him because he lacks national spread. Speaking further, Lilian revealed that Peter Obi is a force to reckon with in the upcoming election but she can’t leave her candidate and support him.
“I also, wish to state that Peter Obi is my leader and an elder brother from Anambra Central whom I respect and hold in high esteem but our political aspiration has become divergent. Peter Obi is no doubt, a force to reckon with in the election, but will not be able to garner the required spread that will secure a win. He can’t win.” She added.
